History
The history of printing dates back to 1436 where it is believed that Johann
Gutenburg built the first printing press. He brought together the technologies
of paper, oil-based ink and the wine press which gave the world a new
concept - printed books.
Robert James Cochrane admired the diligence and perseverance of the early
stages of printing. After devoting many years in the United States Navy,
Robert worked his way to become a Master pressman for the National Geographic
Society in 1940. Robert gained an even greater admiration of the industry
and decided to pursue his dream by owning a printing company. In 1957,
Robert opened the doors of Vintage Press along with 8 family members.
After retiring in 1965, Robert decided to turn the reins over to his daughter
Mary Ruth and son-in-law Darrell Wall. Darrell brought over 30 years of
award winning mastership to Vintage Press. A new era was born when their
sons' began their apprenticeship with the company at an early age.
Today, Vintage Press is owned and operated by Mary Ruth and son John Wall.
Together they have built a company of experienced designers, consultants,
and pressmen that focus on taking care of the clients needs. Vintage Press
is committed to deliver outstanding printed material to help you with
your success!
